Senior Scientist – Cell Biology
The successful candidate will lead cell biology for new technology developments in Life Sciences. As a core member of our team, you will drive the cell biology research arm of our new platform development effort aimed at creating novel research tools that solve core industry challenges in the biopharma space. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of biological, mechanical, and electrical engineers, chemists, and business experts to implement, validate, and launch new, enabling cell-based assays, modalities, and platforms relevant to Analog Devices innovative sensing and measurement technologies.
Responsibilities
Propose new cell-based approaches to address the pain-points in the biopharma space, including new sensor technologies that could enable new solutions
Collaborate with a diverse team across multiple disciplines to develop cell-based assays and platforms in conjunction with new sensor modalities
Design and carry out in vitro cell-based studies to validate the new technologies
Assist in operating a BSL-2 laboratory environment; mentor and train new users and team members on cell culture and assay techniques and best practices and prepare standard operation procedures (SOPs)
Provide expert guidance in customer value proposition, market research, and product definition for how assays are selected, onboarded, and utilized in biotech and pharma
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements
Work closely with the business team to understand core cell measurement challenges in the pharma drug discovery pipeline
Minimum qualifications
Ph.D. in Biology, Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field
Minimum 5 years post-graduate and/or industrial experience working in cell biology, including least 3 years in a bio-pharma industrial position with a focus on cell-based technologies
Experience with a wide range of mammalian cell lines (examples: HEK, CHO, iPSCs, cardiomyocytes, neurons, etc.); ability to work with primary cells
Strong theoretical and practical hands-on experience in cell biology and cell-based assays
Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment.
Experience working closely with quantitative biology, computational biology, or other data analysis teams
Nice-to-have
Prior experience in bio-pharma new assay development on high-throughput systems, ideally building new cell-based assays and working with or onboarding new technologies
Prior experience with 3D cell models
Prior experience with cardiomyocytes (iPSC-derived, or primary)
Prior experience with biosensor development
Experience in product development
